The transgender community and I have many valid reasons to be livid at CD Projekt RED.

Like other companies toying with parasocial and influencer marketing strategies these past few years, CDPR have been alarmingly successful in creating a marketing persona that plays upon, preys upon, and boosts some of the worst in online rhetoric. They have a history of transphobic messaging. They have attempted to co-opt political activism for product awareness. Through Twitter mentions they have fostered fan relationships by tipping their hat to GamerGate conspiracy circles associated with the far-right.
